Summary of points discussed.

It was suggested that ride leaders might like to consider providing a map or route sheet for ride participants.  This would be useful, amongst other things, if a rider wanted to leave the ride before its end.

A suggestion was put forward that a ‘figure of eight’ ride could be useful on occasion, as it would allow participants the option to leave the ride when it arrived back at the start, before entering on the second phase.

A stop after 15/20 miles to allow riders to ‘rest and take stock’ was considered to be a good idea.  This ‘stop’ could be for refreshment if the opportunity presented, or it might simply be for a few minutes en route.

It was suggested that the ‘CTC Easy Rider’ and ‘Shorter Ride’ events could be entered on the runs list as ‘D’ rides.

Special Events.

It was felt that we should open MKCTC special events such as YHA trips to the Northants and Kettering sections.

Website.

The website was considered a valuable asset and it has had over18000 hits since it’s inception.  It has been instrumental in the recruiting of new members amongst other things.

A useful feature to include on the website would be links to local cycle maintenance programs/sites.

Special thanks are due to Andy, our Webmaster.

Rides:

Also thanks are due to our regular ride leaders and especially to Phil Ashbourne and Richard Forest for organising and leading the ’Shorter rides’ and the ‘CTC Easy Rider’ programs.
